Finally we have the snowfall told about by long-time Alaskans in low voices over hot cups of coffee at the local hangouts. They nod to each other remembering the year that it was the deepest snow, the coldest temperatures, the best trails and then in agreement say, "Where has it gone the past few years?" Yes, we all wonder if global warming is affecting our great state. The signs are all there signaling something in the weather is amiss.
Well, we need to enjoy the good trails while we have them. We eagerly await the race beginning, pursuit, and finish. Dogs of all Northern breeds will be yelping and pulling to go, go round the bend, summit the hill, cruise the icy lakes, and mush on.
